The colonialist undertones of that aside, Saru is right. I really liked the visuals they chose for the end of the galaxy.

Ah Doug Jones, how he is able to be so cute during his love confession through the mask I don‘t know. And the later freak-out was adorable.
Yay for boundaries and clear communication between Rillak and Michael.
Finally a Ferengi in sight! And part of the first contact mission even (iirc, it was a Ferengi woman going by the jewellery which makes me think of the developments in Ferengi culture during Deep Space 9).
Tarka‘s isolation and “narrate the day“ really brings me uncomfortably close to the pandemic. They managed to make his story with Oros, the fellow scientist, touching.
How cool is it that we have two female leaders balancing their values and their relationship again? I could just eat up Rillak and Michael‘s scenes.
