- I can't believe Nhan took off as soon as she was added to the main credits - like, at this point I think they're trolling us - OTOH I totally believe she'll be back, and if she's not, I like this resolution for her - I was like, "Lt Willa seems great, what if we kept her? Oh, but they already have Nhan..." AND NOW THERE'S AN OPENING FOR A SECURITY CHIEF. - why is David Cronenberg there? - if he's Section 31, does that mean David Lynch is R&D? - I'm so confused yet delighted - IF HE HURTS ONE INNOCENT HAIR ON GEORGIOU'S SWEET HEAD... - where is Grudge? do you think she's happy? hungry? sleepy? - so they find Starfleet Command and it turns out to be totally shady, and that's how you know it's Star Trek
I am really hoping Nhan comes back, because I was enjoying the hell out of her character development this episode and would be sad to let her go permanently.
Anyway: David Cronenberg is absolutely Section 31, please let him report to David Lynch or at least have Lynch as the R&D guy in the basement whipping up combination torture devices/doughnut makers, and I would like to thank the costume/hair & makeup folks for making Oded Fehr even more of a silver fox than he already is. Jesus. That man. I mean. Sentence fragments, they're all I've got now.
My exact thought process re Nhan. I also suspect we'll see her again. Probably the Barzhan and the Kelpians will somehow be the trick t 'solving' the Burn.
I don't really care about the Burn (although I like the musical cue as musical clue), but I kind of like the idea of the two being connected -- last season I developed an elaborate headcanon about Saru and Nhan bonding over being from non-warp capable societies.
(I can't remember if TNG specified that the Bhazans weren't warp capable, or if there was some other reason they were auctioning off their wormhole, and I'm certainly not returning to "The Price" to find out.)
I find it absolutely hilarious to play Canadian Actor Six Degrees with Star Trek. I just about levitated out of my seat when David Cronenberg showed up, but then I was like, you know what, if anyone could meet Georgiou where she is... (I still resent that I have not yet run into any of the cast. Sigh.) Although - I am watching the end of the ep as I write this and WHAT DID CRONENBERG DO TO PHILIPPA?!? Is she a holo? Oh noooo (oh yes).
God, I just love watching Michelle Yeoh DO THINGS with her face.
Really cranky to lose Nhan but gosh, she just looked so happy!
I loved watching the crew geek out about all the advances in starship technology. That was a perfect moment.
I didn't actually see this in the ep myself, but apparently one of those ships is called the USS Nog.
I loved everything about this. Nhan! David Cronenberg! Is Georgiou flirting with David Cronenberg? Admiral Silver Fox being every Starfleet Admiral ever! Michael being the best of Starfleet always! Willa (hopefully she joins Disco)! The Engineering banter! Just, everything.
