I set this comm up on a whim only to remember that I'm busy prepping for and hosting a Hallowe'en party. So our posting guidelines are pretty bare bones right now, and I haven't yet created widgets and banners to promote the wee comm, or even thought about tags.

In the meantime, feel free to share your predictions (serious or otherwise) for Discovery.

Tilly will be captain by the end of the series;
Georgiou is simultaneously dead and alive, as long as no one opens that box;
Janeway was "cast" in the role of a warrior of House Mokai in "The Killing Game", which is foreshadowing for the twist where L'Rell and Voq become her ancestors;
established canon tells us that House Mokai will be extinct by the end of the 23rd century, but its descendants will split off into Houses Duras and Mogh;
Klingon genetic science is more advanced than the Federation's because they didn't have the Eugenics Wars to contend with;
we'll get a very special episode about Stamets's space mushroom addiction;
T'Kuvma's cloaking device was provided by the Romulans, who are planning to take over Federation and Klingon space once their forces are spent;
we will never meet Discovery's actual chief medical officer until the series finale, when he will be played by Stephen Fry;
Lorca's tribble is the secret mastermind behind it all, and is also Q

I like all these predictions. I've also heard speculation that since Voq is albino he might be the antagonist that Dax swore an oath with Kor, Kang, and Koloth to defeat, but idk how that fits in with the "Ash is Voq" theory.

I'm so confused that Wilson Cruz isn't the actual CMO. Maybe that fits with the sorta Lower Decks thing they have going on?

Saru and Michael will make space ~~lizard~~ prey babies in a whacky mid-season episode.

I did not know that about Houses Mokai, Duras, and Mogh, but I'd hoped the current houses tied in somehow with established stuff (House of Kor already been namechecked, hurrah.) But when was Janeway a Klingon??

I badly want a Trill to show up; if it's a Dax it would be either Emony or Audrid.

It does, but then it's like, he's treating everyone and we never see another doctor. Strike a balance, show!

But when was Janeway a Klingon??

In "The Killing Game", Voyager is captured by alien hunters who use the holodeck, with a bit of brainwashing, to create scenarios for their hunt. I think it's the pre-credit sequence that has Janeway in the guise of a Klingon.

At some point Burnham is going to mutiny again, this time against Lorca, with Tilly and Saru as her backup.

Said mutiny will probably be preceded by maniacal laughter on Lorca's part.

The fortune cookies hold the secrets to the universe.

Georgiou is clearly alive in the Mirror Universe. All women in the Mirror Universe are, by longstanding Star Trek tradition, bisexual dominatrixes. I have nothing else to say here.

The decision that leads to Burnham's second mutiny is Lorca's discovery and embrace of actual disco music.

The Andorians will finally fucking matter somehow.

We might even actually see one. Someday. Probably in season 6, after five and a half more seasons of Andorian-baiting.

Everything is the fault of the Temporal Cold War. No, really.

Sarek finally admits to Burnham that her parents aren't really dead, they've been living on Earth this whole time and he just lied so he could have a full-Human daughter to go with his half-Human and full-Vulcan sons.

In her research on Humans, L'Rell stumbles across the ancient Earth tome "He's Just Not That Into You" and realizes that she's wasting her time on Voq and she is a strong, awesome Klingon woman who doesn't need a man. Without her help Voq's war basically ends on its own.

The makeup artists admit that making it impossible for the Klingons to emote was a mistake and walk back the new makeup.

All of that said, you're totally right about the Very Special Episode with Stamets' mushroom addiction. That one feels real.

I actually legit believe that Michael will end up mutinying against Lorca, and it will be a good mutiny this time.

I think your feels about Andorians are similar to my feels about Trills. :D But I would be happy to have moar Andorians around too (there's one in the opening scene of the prequel novel, I believe! but they leave so Michael can be Georgiou's XO, lol).

Am on board with L'Rell realizing she's got better things to do with her life (if Voq IS undercover, maybe she realizes that while he's off pretending to be a human).

--and as for Mirror Georgiou, on the one hand there's too many sexy villain Asian ladies already; on the other, well. My simple needs are simple and include Intendant Kira and that one time Evil Janeway wore leather gloves, so.

A mutiny against Lorca is totes going to happen. And then they're gonna have to figure out how to run S2 with Burnham as the captain.

...God damn it, now I really am going to have to buy that prequel novel. I was already tempted, but--Andorian, on top of all the other temptations! Trills would be nice as well, just... my angry little blue people!

I just love the image of L'Rell realizing that she is a Strong Independent Klingon Woman and don't need no man. Because let's be real, Voq is a douchenozzle. I say we figure out how to make the sleeper-agent personality permanent and just keep Ash. I like him a lot! I'm just... also convinced of that theory, so liking him is awkward.

Normally I, too, would be against making Georgiou into a sexy villain Asian lady. But... I really love her, and the idea of her pulling Intendant-Kira-style shenanigans sets my poor little libido afire, so I'm making an id-based exception. She wouldn't be evil, she'd just be... typical of the Mirror Universe!

Yeah my question is not "will she mutiny again" but "how long will it take her to realize that she needs to" -- I think Michael will probably be a lot more reluctant to face off with her captain this time given a) how utterly fucked everything got the last time she did that and b) that Lorca has sort of given her her life back. But she's not stupid and she'll figure it out.

Keep the sleeper agent personality! Yes, I am on board with that. I like Ash a lot better than Voq.

--and all my thoughts on VERY HOT GEORGIOU and your excellent points have flown out the window because my wife is waving a terribly cute cat in my face. *melts* But yeah! She wouldn't have to be evil-evil. Just...leather-clad and a tad more phaser-happy? :D :D

I really wish I was kidding, but it does seem likely, given Sarek's known behavior up to this point.

I doubt it'll happen purely because Georgiou would have looked up Burnham's background and figured it out. But still.

Pretty sure tribbles eat anything grain-based. And a tribble fat on fortune cookies sounds like a marvelous metaphor for something.

I bet you the reason Culber isn't the CMO is precisely so that he can't relieve Lorca of duty at some point. Only the CMO can do that, and who the hell knows where Discovery's is. :P
