Summary:

As the Klingon war fades into a tenuous peace, Michael finds out some information she could have done without knowing, and decides she needs to call someone up to discuss the new information.

Notes: Spoilers through the end of S1. More notes on Ao3 because spoilers. I feel vaguely like I should apologize for this, or at least write something more completely cheerful and shippy later to make up for it being kind of... dark is the wrong word, but definitely "I have a strange sense of humor."

"But you're safe," Michael pressed, hating the ball of fear that settled in her throat at the thought of him, alone among Klingons again. They're his own people, as much as Humans are. And he's not alone.
This time he did reach out for the screen, and touch the edge of it very gently. "I am, Michael. I'm fine, I promise. I'm a hell of a lot more use to L'Rell alive than I am dead, if nothing else, and I know how to take care of myself. Even here." He swallowed and forced a smile. "This is Voq's home, and he knew how to survive it. So do I, now."

It's all part of a slow and, right now at least, very uncertain process of getting them back together! I don't know how I'm going to do it, but damn it I will figure something out!

Ow. Good ow, but ow. Ash just being glad to hear English! L'Rell reassuring him she wouldn't have raped him as Ash because that'd be gross! Michael just hoping he's okay! Ash not wanting to call to congratulate her because maybe she wouldn't want to be congratulated! (ow)

Poor Ash. He very much remains canon's whipping boy. But he got to hear English and talk to Michael and congratulate her! And L'Rell definitely is not okay with the idea that he thought she raped him! These are all good things! *facepalms*
