CBS has released four new character posters to advertise the second half of the season.

(Sidebar: it bugs me slightly that all the promo art has Michael with her relaxed Shenzhou hair. But anyway.)

And Entertainment Weekly has published ten new behind the scenes photos from the first half of the season.

THAT IS EXACTLY THE SERIES OF THOUGHTS I HAD GOING THROUGH THOSE POSTERS, YES.

I'm kind of relieved to see that Doug Jones isn't wearing the hoof shoes all the time. Giant Spice Girl platforms seem a little safer and easier to get around in. (Relatively speaking. I'm of exactly the right age to have a platform shoe-related ankle sprain in my past.)

THANK HEAVENS IT'S NOT JUST ME

Setting aside the politics of black women's hair, which I am waaaaaay too pasty to speak on, it's such an important visual marker of where Michael is and the way she's reshaping her identity, that it's frustrating that so much of the promotional stuff effectively keeps her in stasis.

Same here. Also as beautiful as the posters are, I can't help but noticing that the humans are carrying weapons whilst the other species are not.

The smiles! Thanks for linking especially to the backstage pics. It’s always good to have as many image resource as possible as a fanartist (backgrounds are esp challenging for me, so I love all the photos showing lots of the ship).
